Knights of the Maccabees

On Wednesday night twenty-five of our most prominent citizens met at the W. O.
W. Hall and organized a tent of the Knights of the Maccabees.  The secret
work and the officers were installed by State Commander M. J. Bulger
in an impressive manner.  Election of officers followed and the following were
elected to office: Dr. H. C. Milburn, Past Commander; H. M. Wright, Commander;
Dr. I. D. Nettles, Lieut. Commander; W. M. Campbell, Record Keeper; F. C.
Stewart, Chaplain; J. R. Gibbs, Sergeant; Dr. S. C. Fittz, Physician; Chas.
Felix, Master of Arms; J. A. Collins, 1st M. of Guard; J. C. Peddy, 2nd M. of
Guard; W. A. Mashaw, Sentinel; J. H. Kelley, Picket; Board of Trustees, W. A.
Mashaw and Dr. H. C. Milburn.

It was decided to hold meetings of the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.

State Commander Bulger left this morning for Monroe, La., to institute a lodge
tend there.
