Due to two burnings of the Winn Parish Courthouse in 1868 and 1885, records needed to
complete the above roll are unavailable.  It is believed that at least one other Deputy Sheriff
named McBride was killed prior to 1868.  Regretfully, no information is available to prove this
other than a passing statement made in an old Winnfield newspaper.
