Richard Lafayette Tannehill, son of David Milton Tannehill and Nancy Murphy,
born March 11, 1848, Bibb County, Alabama. Served ten years (1874-1884) as
sheriff of Winn Parish. Maria Elizabeth Sellinger, daughter of John George
Sellinger and Minerva Wyatt, born near Wyatt, LA, January 03, 1858. She
married Richard Lafayette Tannehill in Vernon on January 23, 1877.
