C. Moseley), Luther Moore, Minnie Peters (Mrs. A. B. Cox), second row, Winnie Vance (Mrs. Howard Sowers), Ozro Payne, and Nettie Teagle (Mrs. W. R. Horton)." "The year 1908 is the first time students of Winnfield High School were required to complete eleven years of prescribed study to qualify for diplomas. Commencement exercises were held in the Winnfield Opera House - second floor of the City Hall. There is no record of a printed program, however, Mrs. P. C. Moseley (Pearl Williams) that she and Nettie Teagle concluded the program with a piano duet. School was held in the two story frame building that was located on a part of the property now occupied by the junior high building. As recorded on the huge 18 x 23-inch diploma of Mrs. Winnie Vance Sowers, the following school heads had charge of schools: James B. Aswell, state superintendent; Cas Moss, parish superintendent; Thomas F. Wade, president of the parish school board; W. C. Robinson, principal. The class roll included: Pearl Williams (Mrs. P. C. Moseley), Luther Moore, Minnie Peters (Mrs. A. B. Cox), Winnie Vance (Mrs. Howard Sowers), Ozro Payne, Nettie Teagle (Mrs. W. R. Horton)." [NOTE: Nettie Teagle was grandmother of submitter.]
