All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: March 6, 1930 Winn Parish Enterprise Dinner Given Confederate Vets At Saturday Meet Eight Members of David Pierson Camp Present; Program Rendered Eight members of David Pierson Camp met last Saturday for the purpose of electing delegates to the reunion to beheld at Biloxi, and the other coast cities in June. Those present were P. S. Quartlebaum, age 83; W. E. Dark, age 82; W. H. Matthews, age 83; Dr. S. M. Collins, age 84; J. T. Porter, age 88; A. W. Radescich, age 85; T. A. Alexander, age 86; and William Burnum, age 84. The Daughters of the Confederacy gave them a fine dinner in the basement of the Baptist Church which was highly appreciated by them and the invited guests. Misses Vernon and McLennan rendered music suitable to the occasion, consisting mostly of old time songs, sung by Miss McLennan, accompanied at the piano by Miss Vernon. R. W. Oglesby acted as toastmaster and excellent speeches were made by Judge Moss, Rev. A. H. Cullen, Rev. C. C. Wier, Dr. S. M. Collins, and Rev. J. B. Durham.
