Daulton W. Bowen

Daulton W. Bowen, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Bowen of Winnfield, was supply
officer on the U. S. S. Utah when it was sunk during the first Japanese raids. 
He notified his parents two weeks ago of his safety, and stated that he has
been transferred to the U. S. S. Porter.  He has served in the U. S. Navy for
18 years.

Volmer "Shorty" Bowen, another son of Mr. and Mrs. Bowen, has recently joined
the Navy and is stationed on the U. S. S. Alchiba, New York.
