Hugh McVay

Hugh McVay, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. McVay of Pineville, former residents of
Winn Parish, was reported killed in action before his ship went down in the
Pacific Ocean.  The War Department notified his parents of his fate several
weeks ago.

Hugh, who was 23 years of age, was a graduate of the Atlanta High School and
lived in the Wheeling and Couley communities before his family moved to
Pineville two years ago.
