Walker, of Winnfield, Pays Dental Debt With Japanese Scalp Before 1st Lt. W. E. Walker, Jr., of the U. S. Marine Air Corps, left for the South Pacific to take part in the battles there, Dr. J. R. McCartney, Winnfield dentist, did some dental work for him and charged the Lieutenant one Jap scalp. Evidently, Lt. Walker has paid the debt in full, because in a letter received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Walker, Sr., of Winnfield, this week, he asked that Dr. McCartney be advised to send him a receipt. Lt. Walker wrote that he has been flying continuously since April 1 and on April 7 his squadron had shot down 78 Jap planes. The thing he is most proud of is that his squadron has not lost a man since their operations began in the South Pacific.
