Ronald Griffin Injured in Viet Nam On March 3

Ronald Wayne Griffin, 19 year old son of Mrs. Idell Griffin of Pineville, and
the late Hugh Griffin of Winnfield, was seriously injured by a mortar shell in
Vietnam on March 3, he notified his fianc‚, Jane Mayes, student at
Northwestern State last Friday.

Ronald, a 1967 graduate of Winnfield High School, and a football star on the
Tiger squad, is a patient in a general hospital in Japan.  He received serious
injuries to his abdomen, throat, arms, and legs.

Following graduation, Ronald enlisted in the Marines and was sent to Vietnam
on November 19.  He spent most of his lifetime in Winnfield.
