Bennett Is Named Postmaster At Atlanta, La. Announcement was made last week of the appointment of G. H. Bennett as postmaster at Atlanta, La., replacing C. H. Ferguson who was eligible to retire from the office more than a year ago, but who has continued to serve until an appointment was made to fill his position. Mr. Bennett, a native of Saco, Maine, came to Louisiana during the maneuvers in 1941 with the 43rd Division. He married Miss Christine Longino of Atlanta at that time, and following his four years in the army, tow and one half years of which were spent overseas, he returned to Louisiana to reside. While a resident of Shreveport he gained some experience as an employee of the Shreveport post office. Mr. and Mrs. Bennett have one small daughter, Patricia Anne. Mr. Bennett is Scoutmaster at Atlanta and was attending Camp Ki-Ro-Li at Monroe when his commission as postmaster arrived. He became postmaster effective July 1.
