The program was presented over station KNOE-TV in Monroe. Mrs. Rubie Hanks, Winn Parish librarian, was recognized for her work in helping to prepare the program. Piano numbers were given by Mrs. Carrie Maude Lohman, who played her own arrangements of George Gershwin melodies. Lynda Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Smith, sang and played two vocal numbers. Tommy Emerson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Emerson, and Janie Lou Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Allen, presented piano solos. John Finney, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Finney, sang two numbers and accompanied himself on the guitar. Jim Bob Key also presented two vocal numbers, accompanied by Mrs. Lohman. Jim Bob is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Key. Mayor D. C. Allen spoke briefly on the resources of Winn Parish and introduced the Louisiana State Forest Festival Queen, Miss Elizabeth Ann Carter. Miss Carter, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Carter, is a Winnfield girl. Winnfieldites introduced on the program included City Judge Jack Oglesby, Superintendent of Schools Eugene Love, and Robert Cherry. The program was sponsored by a group of Winnfield merchants.
