All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: April 7, 1938 Winn Parish Enterprise Proclamation Whereas, there has been inaugurated National Negro Health Week throughout the United States of American, and Whereas, the colored citizens of Winnfield have signified their willingness and desire to cooperate in such a program for the betterment of their own health conditions, and Whereas, there has been organized committees among the colored citizens to direct, supervise, and carry on the work of promoting the program, THEREFORE, I, R. W. Buce, Mayor of the Town of Winnfield, do hereby declare the week of April 3rd to April 10th, Negro Health Week in and for the Town of Winnfield, and call upon all colored citizens to assist in every way possible in the week's activities and also request the cooperation and assistance of all property owners in this important work.
