H. B. Bozeman Appointed To State Mineral Board 

H. B. Bozeman of Winnfield last week was appointed by Governor Long to serve
on the 10 man State Mineral Board.

He was notified of the appointment in a letter from the Governor last week and
received his commission early this week.  Mr. Bozeman attended the first
meeting of the new board in the State capitol Friday, October 8.  He is the
only member of the board not connected with mining or oil professions.

The board has jurisdiction over leasing mineral rights on State, Parish, and
city property.  A larger revenue is brought into the State Treasury from this
source than from any other, Mr. Bozeman stated.

O. G. Collins, Shreveport oil man, was elected chairman of the board at the
meeting last Friday.
