S. Attorney Talbot, Youngest Man To Hold Office In Eastern District of La. Edmond Earl Talbot, son of Dr. B. H. Talbot, of Ruston, and nephew of R. L. Lewis, of Winnfield, was given a recess appointment Thursday, October 18, by President Coolidge to be United States Attorney for the eastern district of Louisiana. Mr. Talbot, formerly of Ruston and Gansville, is the youngest man ever to hold the office in this district. He is 31 years old. Mr. Talbot was appointed first assistant United States district attorney in 1925 after practicing law in New Orleans several years. He held that position until the recent appointment. He was born in Gansville. In 1913 he was graduated from the Dodson High School and in 1915, Louisiana Polytechnic Institute. In 1918 he received his A. B. degree from Tulane, his L. L. D. from the same institution in 1922. Mr. Talbot has been a lecturer on criminal practice at the Tulane Law School. He played on the Tulane football team.
