The meeting was called to order by electing Comrade W. H. Mann chairman, T. C. Kidd and A. G. Austin secretaries. On motion, T. C. Kidd explained the object of the meeting. On motion, R. B. Kennedy addressed the meeting, followed by W. H. Mann, B. H. Roberson, G. C. Godfrey, J. P. Carroll and P. F. Smith. On motion, the matter of the charges made against Socialism by T. E. Watson and reproduced in the Dodson Times, being so utterly at variance with all Socialist platforms in the civilized world and all standard dictionaries and encyclopedias, and the truth that we propose to treat it with the comtempt it so richly deserves. On motion, the subject of establishing a Socialist newspaper in Winn Parish was taken up and discussed at length. The question of establishing a paper is for the present deferred. On motion, carried by unanimous vote, that Dodson local cooperate with Winnfield local in securing E. V. Debs for a lecture at Winnfield, La. W. H. Mann, D. E. Gaar, and G. C. Godfrey were appointed to raise funds by selling tickets and subscription to Appeal to Reason. Moved and carried, that The Comrade and the Dodson Times be requested to publish the proceedings of this meeting. On motion the meeting was adjourned. T. C. Kidd, A. G. Austin Secretaries
