Russell Sullivan, former principal of the Atlanta High School, has announced that he is returning to the State Department of Education as Area Supervisor of Vocational Agricultural Education and Agri-Business. He expects to begin his new duties November 1. Present plans are to maintain an office in Winnfield. Sullivan formerly held this position when Bill Dodd was State Superintendent of Education. Prior to that time he had been Agricultural teacher in Winnfield High School. Since returning to Winn Parish he had served as principal of Atlanta High School was presently acting as Student Work Coordinator for Special Education. His responsibility was to assist students in this category in securing work experience. In his new capacity Sullivan will be working with the Agriculture departments in parishes located in North and Northwest Louisiana. His appointment was made by State Superintendent of Education J. Kelly Nix. "I appreciate the opportunity to have worked in Winn Parish. It is an honor to have worked in one of the best school systems in the state. It was with a great deal of reluctance that I accepted this new responsibility but it is more in keeping with the work that I am trained for," said Sullivan.
