Moore, Early Winn Settler, Honored on His 92nd Birthday Arrival of his youngest brother, Oliver, of Columbia, Miss., just as dinner was cooking, added surprise and special joy to the party given John D. Moore on his ninety-second birthday, December 14, at his home on Route 2. His wife, relatives, and friends gathered for the event but Oliver was absent as the celebration progressed. When he came, he explained that he had been delayed and had planned to come the day before. John D. was the oldest of the eight Moore children, of whom three are living. Oliver, 74, is the youngest, and one other, Mrs. Sabria McBride, lives in Montgomery. John D. came to Winnfield in the fall of 1875, his brother recalls, and has lived on the same farm for 70 years. Oliver was born near Winnfield but left in 1904 to go west. He drifted back to settle in Mississippi and now he says he intends to return to Winnfield soon to make his home here. His wife is deceased. He visited his sister, Mrs. Sabria McBride, at Montgomery, and Bryant McBride, a nephew, while here. He left Wednesday for Columbia.
