M. Stovall, of Sikes. The affair had been planned for some time, thus assuring a happy meeting of the participants. Mr. Gaar, a native of Georgia, came to this country many years ago and was married to Miss Amanda Elizabeth Grisham, and reared a large and prominent family. Mr. Gaar formerly resided at Gaar's Mill, the little town or community which now bears his name, and was one of the most prominent citizens of that section; later he removed to Dodson, where he has resided for several years. On this occasion, a number of presents were presented to "Uncle" David, as he is familiarly known by his many friends and at the conclusion of the day's program, each member of the party, upon departure, expressed themselves as having enjoyed the affair and the splendid dinner very much, and expressed a desire that Mr. Gaar may have many more happy birthdays.
