They came from Texas and Louisiana for this one annual feast and get-together day that marks and records the progress of a great family living in a great section and one that has made its mark on the historical events of all North Louisiana. Uncle Tom James, now in his ninety-second year, was present with his ready wit and talk for all those present. heralded and recognized as the leader of the James family his counsel and advice is heeded on many occasions despite his maturing years. His son, John James of Columbia, acted as presiding officer of the day at the business session, and later elected chairman to succeed the late Dr. D. E. James, elected last year to that office. W. Leo Sowers was reelected secretary-treasurer. The address of welcome was delivered by Wesley Boyett and the response was made by Carey McKaskle of Sterlington.
