52 Present At Fletcher Reunion Sunday

Fourth Annual Gathering Held at Old Family Home

The fourth annual gathering of the grandchildren of the late William Fletcher,
who settled in the Flat Creek Community ninety-three years ago, was held last
Sunday at the old family home which is now occupied by a granddaughter, Mrs.
J. A. Vickers, at Flat Creek.

Fifty-two grandchildren, great, and great-great grandchildren were present on
this occasion when conversation was the chief interest of the day.  At noon
time the basket dinners were spread under the cedar trees and presented a
sumptuous dinner for all.

Those present were Mr. J. W. Harper and son, Ansel Harper, Mrs. Alma Harper,
Essie Harper, Mr. and Mrs. Dewitt Harper, all of Crowville; Mr. and Mrs. Ollie
Briggs and three children of Oak Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Harper and two
children of Mangham; Dr. and Mrs. C. M. Jarrell and son, Herman, Dr. and Mrs.
Fahy Jarrel and son, Lee, all of Alexandria; Mr. and Mrs. Guthrie Jarrell and
son of Oak Grove; Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Holmes and sons, George, Woodrow, and J.
D. Jr., Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Boyd, Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Fletcher, Mr. and Mrs. E.
D. Fletcher, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Fletcher and baby, all of Winnfield; Ella Mae
Clark of Shreveport, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Vickers, Flat Creek; Mr. and Mrs. F.
F. Smith, Monroe; Dr. and Mrs. C. W. Smith and daughter, Florine, Ruston.

Besides the immediate family, others present were Mrs. Lou Peters, Mrs. Kate
Vickers, Herman, Helen, and L. V. Vickers, Mr. Fayt Smith, all of Flat Creek,
and Miss Morehead of Georgia.
