Rolen family reunion and  Frances Jane Emmons Rolen's 83rd birthday celebration 
  
Ogden (Liddieville, Franklin Parish, LA)
 
Friends and relatives met in the home of Henry Rolen of Liddieville on
September 4 for a family reunion and surprise birthday celebration in honor
of Mrs. Jane Rolen, who celebrated her 83rd anniversary. There were about
75 present.

Mrs. Rolen's four sons and four daughters were present.

The oldest daughter, Lizzie, and husband of Columbia, and one daughter,
Marteal Lewellyn, and husband and son of Columbia; Henry Rolen of
Liddieville and wife, six sons and one daughter; Woodroe Rolen of Dubach;
Monroe Rolen and wife and two sons of Lone Cedar; Mrs. Ruth Ingram and
husband and son of Monroe; Marshel, Douglas, and Jerry; Mrs. Belle Buchanan
(sic) Buchan of Jonesboro and her two sons, Louis of Jonesboro and Froyce
(sic) Troyce and wife and son of Monroe.

J. Robert Rolen of Liddieville and wife and four sons and one daughter, of
Liddieville; James and wife and son, Herman, Elaine and David; Mrs. G. W.
Warner and husband and two sons, Floyd, wife and daughter and Loyd sic
(Lloyd), all of Liddieville; John Rolen and wife and two daughters and son
of Many, Billie Jean Rolen of Rio Grande Valley, J. E. and Betty Jane
Rolen; George Rolen and wife and two sons and a daughter, of Morrow, J. B.,
Auburn (sic) Alban and Maxifae (sic) Maxa Fay.

Mrs. Bertha Bratton and three sons of Clarks, Ellis, Eldon and Jimmie. They
are leaving for Florida soon.

Visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Kelly of Liddieville, Mr. and Mrs. Bratton of
Clarks, Wiley Johnson of Liddieville, Melvin Barton of Mangham and O. J.
Dilley of Liddieville.

Submitter's note: Frances Jane Emmons was born September 5, 1866 in Winn
Parish, LA and died August 1, 1961 in Franklin Parish, LA. She married
Henry Lewis Rolen on January 20, 1887 in Winn Parish. Henry Lewis Rolen was
born February 3, 1864 in Winn Parish and died December 5, 1944 in Franklin
Parish. Both are buried in New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery, Winn Parish,
LA.
