CALVIN BOYS WIN STATE CLASS "B" TITLE

The Calvin boys emerged Class B high school basketball champions of Louisiana
this week surmounting two days of keen competition at the tournament at Baton
Rouge.

This crack cage team from Winn Parish put down every team in its path this
year, being victorious by wide margins in the parish tourney, in the Weston
contests and at Olla fair last fall.

The team is composed of Don L. Carter, J.D. Cannerday, Clarence Bates, Hessley
De Cannerday, and W.S. Carter. K.C. Simmons has coached the team for several
years and has had outstanding teams each year.
