In the opening game of the state American Amateur Baseball Congress Tournament he pitched a perfect no-hit, no-run, no-error game against Leesville. Of the 21 batters facing him, 16 went down by strike-outs. Mike struck out the last 10 men to face him to put the icing on a real good game. His teammates scored 5 runs in the second inning to give him margin he needed. The leading hitter was Red Hall with three hits and Bob Stewart had the game's only homerun. Mike also helped his cause with a single. Mike has been playing ball this summer with the Fireside Insurance Aces and has been a standout all summer. He attends Northeast Louisiana State College and is a member of the baseball team. Some of you who have been following Mike's sports trail will remember that he pitched 2 no-hit, no-run games while playing in Pony League and Sheriff's League games.
