He was signed by Giant representative, Emlen Tunnell, football hall of fame member. Collie Nicholson, standing, Grambling College publicity and public relations man also of Winnfield, handled the signing.] Louis Wilson, Jr., a star Winnfield fullback who played his college football at Grambling College signed a multiple year contract with the New York Giants Friday. The signing typifies the frenzied competitive atmosphere resulting from raids on National Football League teams by the new World Football League. Ne York's fullback brigade has been totally wrecked by shifts to the WFL. Wilson, a super runner and pass blocker, was highly recommended by Coach Eddie Robinson of Grambling. He played behind Rodney Tureaud at Grambling and didn't receive wide public recognition because of the attention attracted by the all-American running back, Tureaud. A determined athlete with a remarkable record of ruggedness, Wilson isn't expected to toil in obscurity if the opportunity presents itself with the Giants. Wilson was signed by NFL football Hall of Famer Emlen Tunnell at his home here in Winnfield. Tunnell was accompanied by Collie J. Nicholson, director of public relations and promotions at Grambling, who handled all arrangements for signing. Nicholson is also a native of Winnfield. (Louis "Bull" Wilson, Jr. is a resident of Winnfield and was the recipient of heart transplant in recent years).
