The exercises will be held at the Alexandria Hall, Louisiana College on the evening of June 5th, at which time ten young women will receive their diplomas. The Class Motto clearly defines the attitude of these splendid young women towards their chosen profession, “Not for ourselves, but for others,” and they are now equipped and trained to go out into the world and practice the profession that ranks high in service to mankind. The News-American extends congratulations to the class and especially to Miss Harper, as one of home girls, on the completion of their course in nursing. Additional Comments: Mattie Bell Harper (born 9 Sep 1907 in Veech Creek, Winn Parish) is the daughter of Alexander Crozier Haprer and Myra Cornelia Mayes; she is also the neice of former State Senator Samuel James Harper.
