All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: March 3, 1949 Winn Parish Enterprise Four Winnfield Men on Board of Directors of Tremont and Gulf An amendment to the charter of the Tremont and Gulf Railway Company, domiciled at Joyce, La., was filed at the Winn Clerk of Court's Office February 23. Ovey Trahan, vice-president and general manager, reports that only minor changes were made from the old charter to bring it up to date and to delete unnecessary sections of the original charter. The present Board of Directors of T. and G. under the amended charter includes four Winnfield stockholders. The are Ovey Trahan, vice-president and general manager, Albert L. Smith, vice-president, John T. DeLoach, secretary- treasurer, Jessie L. Corley, Winnfield and Thomas Leigh, Monroe. Also listed as an officer, but not a stockholder, is Mrs. Lillie Jenkins, assistant treasurer. John P. Gregg of Chicago is president. Other stockholders are Mrs. Beatrice Joyce Kaen, E. O. Anderson, Chicago. The assistant secretary is Kurt J. Schumann of Chicago. Each of the eight stockholders have one share, except Mrs. Kaen who owns 19,993 shares. Registered office and domicile of the Tremont and Gulf is at Joyce. The railroad company's registered agents are Ovey Trahan and John T. DeLoach, Winnfield. The legal document states that the Tremont and Gulf owns 77.45 miles of railroad and authorized capital stock of $1,250,000.
