Liquor Kills Child
   Winnfield, La., Dec. 12—Mary Belle, the 3 ½ year old 
child of Robert F. Machen, got hold of a quart bottle of 
whisky and a bottle of wine and drank a large quantity from 
both bottles, causing unconsciousness and paralysis.  
Skilled physicians did their utmost to restore her, but she 
died without regaining consciousness.
