T. Abrams, 96, of Sikes Succumbs Saturday, Jan. 28 William T. Abrams, 96, of Sikes, one of Winn Parish's oldest citizens, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Sanders Saturday, Jan. 28. Mr. Abrams and his wife had made their home with the Sanders family since Nov. 10, 1954, when their home and possessions were destroyed by fire. The deceased was a retired farmer and a deacon of the Hurricane Grove Baptist Church. Throughout his life he took an active part in church and civic affairs of his community. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Martha Adams Abrams and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Hurricane Grove Church with Rev. Edward Smith and Rev. John Kitchingham officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were great nephews, Fay Abrams, D. C. Abrams, J. E. Abrams, T. F. Roberts, and Benny Roberts.
