She was a resident of Sikes most of her lifetime where she reared her family, but had made her home in Winnfield in later years. She was the widow of the late Charles Abrams well-known resident of Sikes. Funeral sevices were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Sikes Baptist Church with the pastor Rev. Willie James, officiating. Rev. Kenneth Wall of East Winnfield and the Lecompte Baptist pastor assisted. Burial was in the Sikes cemetery under direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. Survivors include two sons, William Abrams of Monroe and Dr. Morris Abrams, Dean of Louisiana State University, Alexandria; two daughter, Mrs. Stanley J. Smith of Sikes and Mrs. Cora Malone of Winnfield; a brother, Howard Sowers of Winnfield; a sister, Mrs. Mae Erskins of Sikes; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers were: Waymon Erskins, Ralph Erskins, Junior Erskins, Otis Sowers, Carrol Gates and J. C. Allbritton.
