Abrams Of Sikes Succumbs To Long Illness Prominent In Business Circles of His Town and Parish J. B. Abrams, age 41, prominent businessman of Sikes, died in a New Orleans Hospital last Wednesday having been in failing health for some time prior to his trip to the hospital. He was a member of the firm of Abrams and Emmons, of Sikes, which company has been successfully engaged in the general mercantile business. To this union with Miss Ella Mae Crain, three children were born, one son and two daughters, all of whom are now living, Trice Abrams, the son is a student at L. P. I. Ruston. Other surviving relatives of the deceased are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Abrams, of Sikes, two brothers and two sisters, W. C. and J. I. Abrams, Mrs. Charlie Thompson of Sikes, and Mrs. G. C. Richardson of New Orleans. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church at Sikes at 3 p.m. Friday afternoon, Rev. C. B. Gates, pastor, officiating. A large number of friends and relatives attended the funeral.
