Ira Abrams Succumbs Sun. At Many, La. Funeral Services Conducted For Former Resident of Sikes Funeral services for J. Ira Abrams of Many, were held at 4 p.m. Monday in the Sabine Parish capitol from the Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. E. C. Harris, pastor, reading the scriptures. Governor O. K. Allen, whose sister, Fannie Allen, the deceased married 30 years ago, was among those attending the rites. Among those from Winn Parish attending were Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Abrams of Sikes; O. B. Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. A. Leonard Allen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Allen, Mrs. W. O. Averett, Mrs. A. J. Peavy, and others. Mr. Abrams died in Charity hospital in Shreveport Sunday afternoon after undergoing an operation several weeks for the removal of gall stones. The deceased, who was employed by the conservation department is survived by his widow and three children, Mrs. J. A. Marcel of Baton Rouge, James Abrams and Mrs. Harvey Skinner, both of Many, one sister, Mrs. Georgia Richeson of New Orleans, and one brother, W. C. Abrams of Sikes. The deceased was born and reared at Sikes.
