Isaiah Adams, 73, Dies: Rites At Hurricane Grove

Funeral services for Isaiah C. Adams, 73, of Sikes, were held at 4 p.m.
Tuesday at the Hurricane Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Ernie Yocum
and Hollis Miles officiating.  

Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral
Home of Winnfield.

Mr. Adams died at 5 a.m. Monday, May 10, 1971, in Parkview Estate Nursing
Home in Winnfield following a long illness.

He was a member of Hurricane Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Lucille Walker and Mrs. Myrtle
Crain, both of Sikes, Mrs. Belda Hightower of Bastrop, Mrs. Vera Faye Croft
of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Norma Sue Rowell of Shreveport; two brothers, Crosby
Adams, Sr., and Ottis Adams, both of Sikes; five sisters, Mrs. E. A. Willis
of Sikes, Mrs. Nancy Bell Townsend and Mrs. John Williams, both of
Winnfield, Mrs. Selma Rose of South Deerfield, Miss., Mrs. Bertie Waggoner
of Sikes; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The grandsons served as pallbearers.
