He was jacking up his house, preparing to put in a hew sill, when a small iron plate on top of the hydraulic jack cut into his electric stove wire, causing his death. Mr. Adair's father was a native of Flat Creek-Hebron area in Winn Parish and was a carpenter in Winnfield when Ardis Milton Adair was born. The deceased had worked for Shell Oil Co., for 37 years.
