Mrs. Catherine Adams Succumbs; Buried June 24

Mrs. Catherine Adams, 77, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edna Mae Singleton, in Laurel Heights Friday, June 23, after a lengthy illness.  Last rites were conducted at the Hixson Brothers Funeral Chapel at 1:30 p.m. June 24, with the Rev. Kenneth Wall officiating.  Burial was in the Old Hickory Springs Cemetery in Caldwell Parish.

Mrs. Adams was a native of Caldwell Parish but had lived in Winn Parish for 31 years.  She was the widow of the late J. J. Adams.

Besides her daughter of Winnfield, she leaves a brother, R. H. Chatham of Rayville; a sister, Mrs. Susie Norsworthy of Mer Rouge; one granddaughter, Mrs. Jo Dale Smalley, and a great grandson, Wayne Smalley, both of Van Buren, Mo., and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Acting as pallbearers were Eugene Fisher, Clayton Fisher, Dee Fisher, Albert Block, Waymon May, and Lonnie Fisher.
