J. E. Adams Dies After Long Illness

Funeral services for Joseph E. Adams, 74, of Sikes, were held at 2 p.m. 
____________________________________with the Rev. ___________mon, Rev. William
Smith, and Rev. Glen Griffin officiating.

Burial was in the Beech Creek Cemetery near Olla under the direction of
Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mr. Adams died Sunday, February 27, 1977 at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania
after a lengthy illness.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ola J. Adams of Sikes; five sons, Hubert
Adams, Chester E. Adams, and Richard Dolan Adams, all of Sikes; Herbert B
Adams of Shreveport, and Hollis G. Adams of Waterproof; three daughters, Mrs.
Vaudene Vickers of Alexandria, Mrs. Rosalie Neal of Urania, and Mrs. Sammie
Cox of Tullos; one brother, W. C. Adams of Sikes; one sister, Mrs. Sanford
Jordan of Winnfield; 22 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
