Adams, of Stovall, Jackson parish. It was another case of not supposing that the gun was loaded, the boy playing with what was thought to be an empty breech-loading shotgun, when it was discharged, the charge of shot taking effect in the back and penetrating the heart, death resulting almost instantly. In the panic that followed the shooting a messenger was dispatched to Dodson and Drs. J.H. Pankey and J.F. Faith were sent to the scene of the trouble in haste, only to find that the fair young lady, who it is said, was to have been married in the near future, was cold in death. At the time the doctors were sent for it was not known that she was shot dead, but the idea was conveyed that it might be possible to prevent death if surgical and medical aid could be had promptly. Brothers and sisters of the deceased were telegraphed the sad news Sunday night, they residing in Texas, Arkansas and Alabama, some of whom wired that they would leave on the first train and to hold the body pending their arrival. Burial and funeral services will be held at Harmony Grove church, near Gaar's Mills.
