Will Be Buried in Winnfield Cemetery; Hour Not Announced Virgil Adams, 23 year old son of Mrs. Kate Adams of Winnfield, died in a local clinic Thursday afternoon, April 6, 6:30 o'clock, following a short illness and an operation. The remains will be buried in the Winnfield Cemetery but the hour had not been set as the Enterprise goes to press. Virgil was born January 28, 1910 in Winnfield, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Adams (the father deceased). Following his graduation from the Winnfield High School, he was employed several years by the state highway commission. Besides his mother, he is survived by one brother, Willard Adams, and two sisters, Miss Wilma Adams and Mrs. Reginald Seiler. No. 2 Last Rites Held For Virgil Adams Friday Afternoon Virgil Adams, 23, son of Mrs. Kate Adams and the late W. R. Adams, died at a local clinic at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 6, following a short illness that necessitated a serious operation. The entire community was saddened because of the passing of this young man, who was born in Winnfield, January 28, 1910. He attended the local school and since his graduation from high school has been employed by the Louisiana Highway Commission. Funeral services were held from the First Baptist Church, of which the deceased was a member, Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. L. D. Posey, pastor of the Jena Baptist Church, Jena, conducted the service. Interment was made in the Winnfield Cemetery. Surviving the deceased are his mother, Mrs. Kate Adams, one brother, W. M. Adams of Jena, and two sisters, Mrs. Reginald Seiler of Grayson and Miss Wilma Adams of Winnfield. Among the out of town relatives and friends attending the last rites were Dr. and Mrs. John Adams and family of Columbia; Mr. and Mrs. Penn Bush, Riverton; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Adams, Mrs. Henry Adams, Columbia; George Adams and two sons, Sikes; Sibyl Seiler, Grayson; Mr. and Mrs. Tim Higdon, Selma; Mrs. J. P. Whatley and Mrs. J. Pipes, Jena; Mackie Presley, Palestine, Texas; Miss Dessie Tarver, Miss Kennie Mae Clark, Tom Gilbert, LeCompte; E. B. Maseburg and family and Grace Johnson, Montgomery.
