Montgomery Native Dies; Burial At New Salem

Mrs. Elsie Addington, 77, died Saturday, January 23, in Vivian after a lengthy
illness.  Mrs. Addington was a native of Montgomery and a member of the New
Salem Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. at the New Salem Baptist Church,
Montgomery (Crews, Winn Parish) with burial in the church cemetery under the
direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Survivors include two sons, R. C. Addington, Jr. of Pineville and W. D.
Addington, Jr., of Shreveport; four daughters, Mrs. Margaret White of St.
Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Marie Horn, Montgomery, Mrs. Melvayse Thomas of
Shreveport, and Mrs. Derinda Garner of Addis; one foster son, B. W. McKaskle
of Shreveport; two brothers, J. T. Hickman and M. D. Hickman, both of
Montgomery; one sister, Mrs. A. M. Barnes of Winnfield; 17 grandchildren and
six great grandchildren.
