W. Adams Is Called By Death Sunday Morning Last Rites Are Conducted Monday At Hurricane Grove Church N. G. W. Adams, 59 years, 9 months, and 7 days of age, died at his home on Dodson, Route 1, Sunday morning after an illness of several months of high blood pressure and heart trouble. Funeral services were conducted at the Hurricane Grove Baptist Church Monday morning at 11 o'clock with Rev. L. D. Emmons officiating. Interment was in the Hurricane Grove Cemetery. Mr. Adams was born and reared in the Hurricane Grove community. He was the son of the late W. N. Adams and Carolyn Smith Adams. In his younger days he taught school and later in life devoted his time to farming. A man who stood high in his community and parish, he was well known throughout this section and in religious circles in the state. For almost thirty one years he had served as clerk of the Shady Grove Baptist Association. He was a Mason and a member of the Hurricane Grove Church. Mr. Adams in September, 1907, married Miss Eleanor Fox, also a native of Ward Seven. To this union were born two sons, L. G. and E. G. Adams, who survive, together with their mother. Others surviving are four brothers and four sisters: Dr. J. V. Adams and H. G. Adams of Columbia, M. J. Adams of Alexandria, E. C. Adams of Monroe, Mrs. Stella Gates, Oak Grove, Mrs. Fannie Smith, Sikes, Mrs. Della Simmons, Dodson, and Mrs. Alma Higdon, Tullos.
