F. Adams and Daughter Succumb October 29-30 The death of Mrs. H. F. Adams, 85 years, 7 months, and 27 days of age, of Sikes, October 29 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ella Kennedy, was followed October 30 by the death of her daughter, Mrs. C. L. Boles, 45, of Winnfield, at her home on East Lafayette Street. Mrs. Adams was an invalid twenty-six years and her daughter, Mrs. Boles, had been in ill health for four or five years. Funeral services were held for Mrs. Adams Monday morning at 10 o'clock and she was laid to rest in a family cemetery at Beech Creek with Rev. B. G. Dyess and Rev. Murry officiating under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Pallbearers were the deceased's grandsons, Hubert Adams, Herbert Adams, John Henry Adams, Ellis Parker, Lenwood Adams, and Roy Adams. Mrs. Adams was born April 2, 1865. She was Martha Paralie Brister before her marriage to Mr. Adams who preceded her in death. To this union were born ten children: four daughters, Mrs. Ella Kennedy and Mrs. R. S. Jordan of Sikes, Mrs. C. L. Boles of Winnfield, and Mrs. J. E. Parker of Olla; three sons, T. F. Adams, J. E. Adams, and W. C. Adams of Sikes; 45 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, and one brother, Cicero Brister of Alexandria. She united with the Baptist Church 65 years ago and was a member of the Union Grove Church at the time of her death.
