Adams Succumbs After Short Illness Funeral Services Held From Family Residence Friday Virgil M. Adams, 23 year old youth, son of the late W. R. Adams, parish treasurer, died at the Fittz-Faith Clinic here Thursday evening, April 6, at 6:15. The young man had been ill for about two weeks, being seriously stricken from the first. Funeral services were held at the family residence, Friday afternoon, April 7, at 3 o'clock. The Rev. L. D. Posey, pastor of the Baptist Church of Jena, assisted by Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the local Presbyterian Church, and Rev. Ellis Smith, pastor of the local Methodist Church, conducted the last rites. Interment was in the local cemetery. Virgil M. Adams was born on January 28, 1910, at Wheeling. He was a member of the Baptist Church here and was held in highest regard by all his friends and acquaintances who paid him the highest tribute when they remarked that "Virgil was a good boy." The young man is survived by his mother, Mrs. Kate Adams; two sisters, Miss Wilma Adams of Winnfield and Mrs. Reginald Seiler of Grayson; and one brother, W. M. Adams of Winnfield.
