Franks, 71, Succumbs; Rites Saturday Abe H. Franks, 71, of Winnfield, died Friday, June 8, 1973 in a local hospital. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Southern Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. E. B. Beams officiating, assisted by Mike Mott. Burial was in the Bolton-Teagle Cemetery. A retired farmer, Mr. Franks was a native of Winn Parish and a member of the Tannehill Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Tinnie Monroe Franks, of Winnfield; J. E. Franks of Odessa, Tex. (relationship not given), four daughters, Mrs. Leroy Maxey, Mrs. James Bruce, both of Winnfield, Mrs. Mattie Lee Armstrong of Kelly and Mrs. Iola Keith of Dodson; one brother, Lige Franks of Winnfield; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Blackstock of Winnfield; 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers were W. O. Holmes, James Chandler, Andrew Varnell, Andrew Guin, Malcolm Kendrick, DeLoyd Brunson.
