Alexander, 98, Dies at Jonesboro Monday, This Week (from the May 20, 1932 Winnfield News-American) Thomas Harvey Alexander, 98 year old Confederate Veteran died at the home of his daughter in Jonesboro Monday of this week and was buried in the Liberty Hill Cemetery the following day. Mr. Alexander served the entire period of the Civil War under the leadership of General Robert E. Lee and returned after the conflict having received no wounds. He is survived by seven children, Mrs. Martha Myrick, H. G. and W. Y. Alexander of Winnfield; G. L. Alexander, Tuttle, Okla.; P. H. Alexander, Mrs. Leslie Brown and Mrs. Ed Smelly of Jonesboro. Those attending the funeral from here included Mrs. Martha Myrick, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Page, H. G. and W. L. Alexander, Mr. and Mr. Charlie Ray, Bascom and Harvey Myrick, Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Evans, Jim Alexander, Jim Anderson, and J. E. Anderson.
