  We regret the omission of the notice of the death of Mr. Alford at the time 
of his death, as he was one of the pioneers to this section of Louisiana, and 
one of those who located this town.  He was the father-in-law of Hon. Geo. A. 
Kelly, and a much respected citizen.  We tender to his bereaved family our 
condolence.
