Wm. C. Alford Funeral Held Friday, May 9

Funeral services for William C. Alford, 60, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 9,
in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home.  Rev. Thomas Cox officiated and
interment was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Mr. Alford died Wednesday, May 7, at the L & A Rairoad roundhouse.  He was a
mechanical foreman for the railroad.  He was a member of the First Baptist
Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mattie B. Alford; one son, W. C. Alford, Jr.,
of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Poole of Houston, Texas; one
brother, Hansel Alford of Stevens, Ark.; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Collins,
Hope, Ark., Mrs. Hattie McDowell, Hope, Ark., and Mrs. Cleo Hungerford,
Richmond, Va.; 6 grandchildren.
