Warren Allen Rites Held Last Thursday The funeral of W. Warren Allen, 57, Winnfield, was held at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Methodist Church in Winnfield with the Rev. Grayson B. Watson officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Winnfield. Mr. Allen died Tuesday, November 21, 1978, at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Winnfield. He graduated from Winnfield High School in 1938 and later graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches where he was a charter member of the Phi Mu Alpha fraternity and member of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. He owned and operated Allen & Allen, Inc., throughout his adult life. He was a Master Mason, 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of the Eastern Star Lodge No. 151 of Winnfield. He served as head of many Masonic bodies and served in many other capacities as a Mason. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Winnfield. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Myrtice S. Allen of Winnfield, one son, W. Warren Allen, Jr., of Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. Wendy A. Roach of Shreveport and Mrs. Ann A. Cavanaugh of Leesville; one grandson and two nieces. Pallbearers were Newton Forrest, J. W. Kennedy, L. L. Brewton, Jr., Douglas Allen, Johnny Brister, Henry Williams, Cecil Johnson, and Arthur Dinkins. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Eastern Star Lodge No. 151 of Winnfield. Memorials may be made to the Scottish Rite Foundation or University of Texas at Houston Diabetes Research Fund, in care of W. J. Thompson, Box 20708, Houston, Texas.
