Montgomery Man Dies In Collision Jan. 6

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday for Lewis W. Allen, 46, of
Montgomery, who died at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 1971 in a head-on
car-truck collision.

The fatal mishap occurred on U. S. Hwy. 71 six miles north of Krotz Springs.

A native of Montgomery, he was an off-shore oil well worker and a veteran of
World War II.

Funeral services were held at the Union Grove Church, Montgomery, with Brother
James Barrett officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery under direction
of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ollie Allen of Montgomery; two sons, Tommy
Joe Allen and Arnold Ray Allen, both of Montgomery; two stepsons, Willie Lewis
of Shreveport and Jerry Lewis of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Rosemary Allen
of Montgomery; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jodie Allen of Montgomery; one
brother, Kermit Allen of Keithville, and three grandchildren.
