W. Allen At Pleasant Hill Funeral services for Mrs. C. W. (Wilma) Allen, 68, a resident of the Pleasant Hill Community, East Winn Parish, were conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 27, in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Christie officiating. Burial was in the family cemetery under direction of Edmond's Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Nephews acted as pallbearers. They were Max Allen, Dewey Victor Allen, Tuley Wells, Doyle Thomas, Speedy Long, W. F. Long, Wiley O. Nugent, and William Gilmore. Mrs. Allen, the former Caroline Long, member of the prominent Long family of Winn Parish, died Friday in Oschner Clinic in New Orleans after a long illness. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist church and a life long resident of the community in which she lived. She is survived by her husband; three sons, Clinton W. Allen of Winnfield and Gilbert and Charles K. Allen of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Mrs. Monita Desselle of Baton Rouge and Miss Nell Ruth Allen of New Orleans; six brothers, Morris, Parker Jim, John, and Oscar Long, all of Winnfield; and Felix Long of Tullos; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Gilmore of Mangham and Mrs. Alice Nugent of Pineville, and six grandchildren.
