James W. Allen Succumbs; Rites Held Sunday

James Willie Allen, 34, an oil field driller, died at 10:50 p.m. Friday, March
7, 1969 in a Winnfield hospital after a long illness.  He was a member of the
Laurel Heights Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Joanne Allen of Winnfield; three daughters,
Miss Jennifer Lynn Allen, Miss Karen Boyette, Miss Carla Boyette, all of
Winnfield; four brothers, Dorcy Allen, Jimmie Allen, both of Alexandria,
Lester Allen of Little Rock, Ark., Leonard Allen of Grayson; two sisters, Mrs.
Aliene Wilson of Alexandria and Mrs. Marie Randolph of Seattle, Wash.; his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Allen of Alexandria; and his maternal grandmother,
Mrs. Lou Richardson.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Laurel Heights Baptist
Church in Winnfield with Rev. C. C. Martin and Rev. Wayne Toms officiating. 
Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Hixson
Brothers Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Pallbearers were Benny Roberts, Russell Smith, James Vines, Oliver Howard,
John T. Williams, and Bobby Williams.
