J. B. Allen Killed in France February 22nd M. M. "Bud" Allen, of Winnfield, Route 2, was notified by the War Department Wednesday of the death of his son, Pfc. Jamie B. Allen, 19, who was killed in France February 22. Pfc. Allen was serving with the famous 42nd Rainbow Division, a part of the seventh army. He had recently been awarded the combat infantryman's badge. Pfc. Allen is survived by his father; five brothers, Max Allen, who is serving with the Marines overseas, Marvin Allen, Earl Allen, R. C. Allen, and Lazelle Allen, all of Route 2, Winnfield; and four sisters, Mrs. Stacy Smith, Mrs. Bob Craft, Miss Annie V. Allen, and Mrs. George Porter, all of Route 2, Winnfield. No. 2 Pfc. Jamie B. Allen, a member of the 42nd Rainbow Division and recently killed in France, graduated from Winnfield High School in 1943. Son of M. M. "Bud" Allen of Winnfield, born on January 16, 1936, Pfc. Allen received his basic training at Camp Fannin, Texas, and was there four months before going overseas, where he had been awarded the combat infantryman's badge.
